- Where are you located?
BabyCakes Cupcakery has a fully licensed commercial kitchen that is not open to the general public. You can find our Artisan treats every Saturday at the St. Matthews Farmer’s Market during the months of mid-May through mid-October. Our cupcakes can always be purchased from our friends at Dooley’s Bagels at 2415 Lime Kiln Lane.
BabyCakes is excited to announce that during the weekends from November 18 to December 18 we will have a storefront open at the Summit Louisville from 12-5.
Does BabyCakes deliver?
Yes! We deliver to the immediate Louisville area. As delivery fees are based upon the area of delivery, it is best to contact us to discuss delivery options and fees.
How do I find out what flavors you are baking?
The best way is to join our email list. We send weekly emails updating you on our whereabouts and what flavors we are offering.
Does BabyCakes ship cupcakes?
Unfortunately, not at this time.
Does BabyCakes bake only cupcakes?
BabyCakes specializes in cupcakes. However, we offer different sizes of cupcakes including a jumbo cupcake often used for the birthday person in addition to a giant cupcake that feeds 16+. At times, we offer other baked goods as well, usually seasonal in nature.
Do you bake mini-cupcakes?
We do offer mini-cupcakes for special events/custom orders. We ask that you purchase at least two dozen/flavor with a minimum order of four dozen. The cost is $30.00 for two dozen mini-cupcakes.
How do I store my cupcakes?
We recommend storing your cupcakes at room temperature in an air-tight container. If you will not be devouring the cupcakes with 48 hours after purchasing them, we suggest freezing them. Once frozen, they are good for up to 10 days after they are purchased. Be sure to leave them a
- How do I place an order?
The best way to place a custom order is by calling. That way you are ensured that we can fulfill your custom order. We also welcome email inquiries to
info@babycakeslouisville.com.
Do I need to place my order in advance?
Yes. We require 48 hours notice for custom orders. Please contact us for availability as we often limit the number of orders we take to ensure quality and freshness for all our custom orders.
How many different flavors may I order?
The short answer is-it depends. During the times that we are at the St. Matthews Farmer’s Market, the Summit or any other art show or event where we offer a variety of cupcakes, you may order a variety of flavors. During the times of the year that we do not have a retail outlet, we require each dozen ordered to be the same flavor. Because of our catering experience, for weddings, showers and corporate events we suggest a maximum of 3-4 flavors to not overwhelm the guests with too many flavors.
Does BabyCakes cater for weddings, baby showers, corporate or other special events?
Yes! We love to celebrate! Please contact us for catering information.
How do I calculate the number of cupcakes needed for my event?
We typically recommend one cupcake per person at the event. We suggest rounding up to the next dozen as price breaks are given at the dozen level.
How do I display the cupcakes at my event?
BabyCakes offers several display options and has cupcake displays that we rent. Our cupcake tower holds 120-130 standard cupcakes. The rental fee for the tower is $50 with a $250 deposit refunded on return of the tower.
We are also open to customizing your displays based upon your likes and interests. For example, for a wedding, we made hatboxes a part of the display because the bride loved the look of hatboxes. It turned out to be a beautiful display and the personalization and attention to detail made the cupcake display a huge hit with the wedding couple and their guests.
Does catering include on-site set up?
BabyCakes can deliver cupcakes to your event which can include on-site set up. We also offer flower placement as a service. Pricing for floral arranging is quoted on an individual basis. We are so particular on how our cupcake displays look for special events that we prefer on-site set up to guarantee the cupcakes are well showcased. Delivery fee and set up fee in the metro area is $75
What about wedding or party favors? Does BabyCakes offer individual boxing?
Cupcakes make great wedding or party favors. We do offer individual boxing for special events. If there are any “leftovers” BabyCakes also offers boxing so your guests can be sure to take a cupcake with them once they leave your event.
Are there any price breaks above one dozen cupcakes?
Each dozen is approximately a savings of 12 percent off of the price for individual cupcakes. Therefore, we suggest ordering by the dozen.
- Does BabyCakes offer custom decorations?
Yes. BabyCakes can create custom decorations that are perfect for the theme of your event. Please contact us so that we can get our creative juices flowing to perfect your event.
Does BabyCakes offer special icing colors?
Yes, BabyCakes does offer special icing colors. The majority of our cupcakes are the color they are due to the natural berries and ingredients that we use to create them. However, we have a large variety of food colors available so that we can cater and customize our cupcakes for your special event.
- How many flavors have you created?
We offer over 60 flavors of artisan cupcakes! One of our favorite things is to come up with new flavors. If you don’t see the one that you want on our list, contact us because chances are, we’ve baked it!
Does BabyCakes offer any vegan or gluten free cupcakes?
Unfortunately, not at this time. We are working on developing recipes for those with vegan preferences and gluten allergies.
Is BabyCakes a nut-free bakery?
We are a bakery that use nuts at times. If there is a concern with allergies please let us know and we can try to rearrange our baking schedule to be sure that our tools and ingredients not used in conjunction with nuts.
